Barrister Vladimir  Makeev

a member of the Moscow City Bar Association, with more than 30 years of legal practice.

Mr Makeev holds criminal, civil and arbitration cases. He provides comprehensive legal assistance, combining the functions of a defence lawyer and an independent legal counsel. He represents his clients before all the court instances, law enforcement authorities and other state bodies. He defends individuals from criminal prosecution.

Mr Makeev held hundreds of civil and criminal cases, both in Russia and overseas (U.S., UK, France, Germany, Poland, Kazakhstan and other countries).

He is specialising in legal defence of businesses from unlawful actions of law enforcement authorities and third parties. In this sphere, the focus is made on convincing the officers of relevant authorities and governmental agencies (Prosecutor’s Office, Investigative Committee, State Security Service, Ministry of the Interior etc.) to abandon groundless actions and claims and, if a litigation is already underway, to dismiss the case due to the absence of essential elements of crime.

Mr Makeev held a number of successful arbitration proceedings, saving millions of U.S. dollars of his clients.

In 2000, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Aleksiy II awarded barrister Vladimir Makeev with the Patriarch’s Diploma «For Hard Work to the Glory of the Holy Church».
